Defense is so important at the SS position, unless the guy is a monster hitter to make up for it.

I was so impressed with Pokey and Cabrera last year and neither of them are A-list hitters. They really helped the Sox win some games with their defensive skills.

I would take Berroa over Eckstien any day.

People like Viking don't realize that Eckstein has to play a touch closer to the plate and shade towards third slightly when a fast runner is at the plate as he cannot possibly go into the hole and throw him out. These things go unnoticed by the casual fan like Viking. He probably doesn't even understand what I am talking about.

plus, since he is only 5'6", pop-ups to shortstop take longer to catch. this prolongs the game and makes st. louis games even more boring.

I actually don't mind the Cards though, just hate it when idiots get in an argument with me that they cannot win, thereby being forced into name calling and ridiculing my baseball ability which they know nothing about, beacuse they have no logical argument to bring to the table.
